Albany FilmFest Kids/Young Filmmakers

We’re looking for awesome short films made by young people to screen at the next Albany FilmFest.

You can enter if:

• You are between the ages of 6 – 17 (or high school senior)

• Your film or video is less than 30 minutes long

Does it have to be a certain kind of film?

• Anything goes: comedy, drama, documentary, animation, music video, group projects, something completely different.

• Film or video (including cell phone videos) are both fine, as long you can submit a digital file.

Does it cost money to enter?

• Yes, but entry fees are much lower for youth entries.

• We offer fee discounts for films shot in Albany, CA, and returning filmmakers.

• Winners of our two Youth categories (6-12 and 13-17) are eligible to win a cash prize.

• If you’re from Albany, don’t want to pay a fee, or don’t like to compete, think about entering your film in Albany Filmmaker’s Showcase – it’s free!
